CHANGE Welcomes: OnePeople.SG – Camp IGNITE 2018

Earlier this month CHANGE along with Emmanuel @ Everitt working in partnership with Sands Leadership Development Centre and the Singapore Scout Association welcomed OnePeople.SG’s Camp IGNITE to visit and learn about the faith of Christianity.

OnePeople.sg was established in 1997 to promote racial harmony and spearhead programmes and initiatives to bring the different ethnic communities together. Formerly known as the Central Singapore Joint Social Service Centre, the organisation was repositioned and given a new identity – OnePeople.sg. On 27 May 2007, OnePeople.sg was launched by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong as an organisation that champions racial harmony initiatives in Singapore.

Thank You!

We here at CHANGE would like to thank the amazing volunteers who joined with us this last weekend at our local nursing home to provide a wonderful enrichment programme for residents there.  The activities were thoughtfully planned and prepared by the volunteers, and they did a great job!  The residents were well engaged and thrilled to participate in the music, games, and conversation.  Looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

Change Comes to CHANGE

Although there are no seasons here in Singapore, change is in the air here at CHANGE Community Services.

CHANGE would like to welcome our new Programme Manager – Christopher VanWinkle.

Chris most recently was posted with The Singapore Scout Association where he worked in partnership with various government, grass root and non-government organisations to provide a holistic care programme for youth-at-risk here in Singapore, as well as, developing other special programmes and camps that focused on family bonding and student leadership.

Chris continues to serve The Singapore Scout Association on a volunteer basis as a member of it’s National Training Team and can still be found serving as a scout leader on most Saturday mornings in the east.

Prior to this, Chris served at The Los Angeles Dream Center where together they provided a community of support by offering free resources and services that addressed immediate and long-term needs in the areas of poverty, addiction, and abuse. They served as a resource centre focused on finding solutions to homelessness, hunger, and the lack of education through residential and community outreach programs.
